Halloween Special

Ah Halloween! And how we love it. It's not just the sugar high, it's the dressing up that gets our creative juices flowing. And with Phin taking after his Star Wars crazed parents with his obsession with all things Darth, we decided to follow suit and go en masse in tribute to our childhood Heroes.
I dug out an old dress of my grandmothers, my Vivienne Westwood pirate boots (a fave in my twenties) and purchased a Leia wig and a trusty swim woggle transformed into a light sabre. . Tom morphed into Luke Skywalker in x-wing fighter pilot mode (I love him in orange), Phin was lucky enough to get yet another outfit (he already owns Darth and Yoda) and came as a storm trooper plus water pistol with his best pal Samuel coming as the dark Lord. Alice became C3PO with the help of American Apparel's gold leggings and a black marker pen, Billy was a Java and Mini stole the show with our home made creation of R2D2. Two lamp shades, a bin lid and lots and lots of electrical tape made it all possible. Mini could barely walk and climbing steps was nigh impossible but she kept it on a evening spurred on by the lure of more sweets. And she was mightily rewarded. What a night.

Halloween Special 2

My friend Karen and I go a little crazy when it comes to decorating her house. The whole street goes mad so there's quite a bit of rivalry. I carve out seven pumpkins for the window and steps and then we go to town on the cobwebs, skulls, pumpkin lanterns and spiders. All ready to hand out sack fulls of sweets. Trick or Treat!

Half term hols

End of hols

To end our relaxed half term hols we went down to Kent with friends Tim and Alice and their two boys Samuel and Billy. It was all brisk walks in muddy fields, riding on Lulu McPherson and big log fires. Bliss.
Phin and Mini were in their new J Crew coats. Phins is a wonderful black and red lumberjack coat and Minis a fake fur leopard number which is made with Thinsulate so it's not only chic but mega warm too.
JCrew much to our delight are doing a special offer for orders outside the USA with free shipping and no import tax until Dec 30th. Well worth checking out.

Star Wars

Phin and Mini went to BF Samuel's 5th birthday on Sunday. And the theme of course was Star Wars. Phin went as his favourite villain whilst mini channelled her inner robot with her chartreuse satin dress and lurex party coat by H&M All For Children range. A little C3PO and very fashion, especially her gold glitter handbag which was perfect got hiding her loot.
There were epic light saber fights cleverly made out of swim woggles and electrical tape and godmummy Alice's stupendous Darth Maul cake scared and satisfied in one fail swoop.

Hamburger Heaven

Phin is obsessed with hamburgers. Maybe it's the fact that its the only time he's allowed ketchup but as a half term treat we headed down to Byron burger. Mini wore her new black and white checked Bonpoint dress with her Zara knee socks and black Mary Janes and a very big smile.
But before they got to eat, I got to shop. It was the new collection of For the Children at H&M where 25% goes toward UNICEF and helping children in both India and Bangladesh. Below is Phin proudly showing his new Varsity jacket and rabbit hat and mitts. Watch this space for more of the fantastic pieces from the collection. It's well worth checking out.

All For Children

I'm a huge fan of H&M's All for Children range. Not only are their collections great fun, mixing practical clothing with quirky playful pieces but they're affordable and 25% of the proceeds goes towards helping UNICEF support children in India and Bangladesh.
This season is amazing with H&M excelling themselves. We picked up amazing party dresses for mini and a fantastic grey flannel suit for Phin and the animal hats are just fantastic, what a chic way to dress up? And of course i couldn't help but splurge on the cotton canvas playhouse. Check it out on line or head down to your local store to snap some of these pieces up.

Zoo time

We spent our first day of half term going round London zoo with some new school friends of Phin. We normally only get to spend a few hours there but this time we knocked minis nap on the head and indulged in a day of animal fun.
We tackled the gorillas, penguins, giraffes and the aquarium all in great detail but were disappointed to not get to see Jae Jae the new Sumatran tiger who had just flown over from Ohio to meet his new mate.
Mini was decked out in all her big bros hand me downs. Grey flannel pants and star print shirt from Bonpoint and his Caramel grey cardigan and grey suede desert boots, and her blonde curls adding the perfect foil to her fashionable masculine dressing. Oh yes and her sword. She's never without that.

Zoo 2

And I had a great time snapping all the amazing creatures we saw on my phone. From magical sea horses and beautiful coral to my favourite giraffes at feeding time.
